Analyse three TV adverts

In this advert, many different Pokémon start appearing around the world. This shows the Pokémon as they transform through their generations. More and more different Pokémon keep appearing in different places until they all are on one screen in a large field where different people holding their game consoles transform into a Nintendo Switch. After their game consoles turn into Nintendo Switches, all of the different Pokémon turn 3D as the camera pans up to show the games that are being advertised.

in this advert, an egg is shown as the first thing on screen. Soon the egg hatches, revealing a baby T-Rex inside. The camera zooms in to the eye of the baby T-Rex. It then zooms out, showing the T-Rex, now as an adult. The T-Rex, now walks over to the fence of the enclosure that it's being kept in. It rips off the fence, roars at one of the workers trying to fix the fence, before attempting to eat him. Another worker, sees the T-Rex, and distracts it long enough for the T-Rex to lose interest in him and to chase him. The T-Rex climbs out of its enclosure and chases after the other worker. After a bit of running, the T-Rex catches the worker and eats him. The T-Rex sees a group of Parasaurolophus and eats one of them. The camera zooms away from the scene and looks elsewhere. The camera goes to a different part of the island where a giant circle is seen placing a building down. Afterwards, a helicopter is seen flying off into the distance to tranquillise a dinosaur. After the helicopter flies out of frame, the camera shows a park full of many things, including: dinosaurs, people, buildings and vehicles. The screen darkens, before showing text saying "Build your own Jurassic World". When the screen brightens, a helicopter is shown flying back into frame, with the T-Rex. The T-Rex steps onto a jeep, before looking off into the distance and roaring. The logo for the game shows up. Text saying "Coming Summer 2018" shows up.

In this advert, there are many household items that become alive and start a party around the house. When the people come home, the items then put themselves back to where they were, as curtains and pillows. Then the advert shows the different items and how much they cost.

I think this advert is to show people that IKEA has lots of different furniture to decorate your house to make it different and unique to you.

Analyse three Radio adverts

In this KFC advert, the person speaking talks about KFC and all of their low prices.

I think that this advert is telling people about the prices of food at KFC. It helps the people listening to the advert to know how low the prices of different foods at KFC are.

In this advert, the person speaking talks about a KitKat.

I think that this advert is telling people about KitKats and that they should buy them. I think the advert is telling people that KitKats help people to relax and get their energy back up.

Research specific techniques used in TV and Radio broadcasts

TV adverts use video and audio.

Radio adverts use only audio.

What makes a good and bad advert?

I think a good advert is an advert that is able to successfully get its product sold.

I think a bad advert is an advert that doesn't get its product sold or shows something that might not have anything to do with the product, or confuses the people watching or listening.

Evaluate the Target Audience of your chosen product

Explain what a target audience is and why it is important

A target audience helps you know what exactly you want your product to be.

Explain what a USP is and give an example

A USP is a Unique Selling Point. It's a marketing concept first proposed as a theory to explain a pattern in successful advertising campaigns of the early 1940s.

The movie does have a USP. The USP is that the movie is a videogame adaption.

I. How long is the advert?

30 seconds.

J. Is the advert successful? Do you think it will encourage the target audience to buy it? If so, why?

The advert is successful. We think it will encourage the target audience to buy it, because it may interest people who are into the game.

K. Where do you think the advert would be broadcast? Eg. What radio station?

Heart Radio.

Today, in a group we created an ad for play doh.

What is a USP?

A USP stands for Unique Selling Point. A USP is usually used in adverts for products to show a reason for people to purchase the product. Usually these reasons are showing that the product is unique and should be bought, rather than any other product.

An example could include a new iPhone with all of the new features it has.
